hi try tune-up utilities .com i know i tend to harp on about this but it really is a good program and will optomise your pc to perform at the best of its abilities oh and download free ram xp pro this will free up the page you are using and slow down stuff thats in the background also in tune up you can go to start up and see all the progs that boot up when you turn on your pc the likes of messenger etc and printers quick time etc etc you can then disable these from starting up when you boot your pc and if you need the program just click on it manually this should help i do hope so let me know ok

I always tell people to speed up their computer by using a regsitry cleaner program. This not only helps you speed up your PC but also makes errors appear less.

Run a Defrag on your hard-drive(s). You can use the built-in Windows defragmentor utility (One easy way is by exploring to it you can double-click on “My computer” icon, right-click on a hard-drive letter, properties, tools, defragmentation). Also make sure “Indexing” is turned-off on the hard-drives (explore to the hard-drive properties the same way, then un-check the “Allow Indexing service…” option).

Do a scan for any adware/spyware that may be lurking and if it finds any nasties, remove them. A good free program for this is Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware:
You can find a free-version on their site, try the following link address: http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Those are just a few suggestions, there’s many more tweaks and tips one can do to improve performance on their PC, but those are few things you can try to start with that would probably help.
